Privacy Policy

I, Christopher Walster, am an independent artist who is committed to being a trustworthy trader for all visitors to my website and all customers to my various online shops. I will never share your personal details, nor use them without your permission. The following information constitutes my privacy policy, which I follow to keep your information secure.

Cookies

The following third party websites I use are: Shopify.com (whom my website is built with and you can purchase from), Etsy, Folksy and Market Co (the online marketplaces I sell all my products through), plus Mailchimp (who are the platform I use for my newsletters). All these third parties use cookies to collect information from their website users, such as browsing behaviour and purchase history. You can disable cookies at any time by changing your website browser settings.

Shopify, Etsy, Folksy and Market Co

If you purchase items from my website (Shopify) or through Etsy, Folksy or Market Co, your full payment details are not shared with me directly. Folksy and Market Co process payments via Stripe, a financial and software service company who offer payment-processing software and application programming interfaces
for e-commerce websites and mobile applications. Your card details are never stored on their servers.

I will only use your name and contact information in regards to your specific order, including for posting, and the sales records will only be retained for tax purposes, resolving disputes and for legal and regulatory obligations. This is so I can provide you the product or service while complying with my obligations under Shopify/Etsy/Folksy/Market Co/Stripe’s Terms and Policy’s. Details are password protected and do not go to any third parties other than Shopify, Etsy, Folksy, Market Co and Stripe. Your name, email address, postal address and contact number are stored online by these third parties who are fully GDPR compliant, and therefore your details are safely stored. I have no control over the information they keep and you will need to contact them directly if you wish to have your data removed.

Are the platform with whom I create and distribute my online newsletter, who store personal information such as the names and email address of people who sign up to receive them. They are fully GDRP compliant and you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter I send out. I do not trade email lists with other organisations or businesses, nor will I bombard you with endless emails. I plan to only send out a maximum of one newsletter per month to share my latest news, offers and promotions related to my business. If you would like to know more about Mailchimp’s

Personalised items, commissions and wedding stationary.

I only deal with personalised items and commissions via email, my Website or Etsy. If you have contacted me through Instagram Direct Message, Twitter Direct Message or through my Facebook Business Page, I will refer you to my email address for commission details and further correspondence. If you purchase through my website, please contact me via my email address to send the relevant information. If you purchase through my Etsy shop, you can either message me via their direct messenger, or via email. I will only contact you in relation to your commission or any questions related to commissions. When working on a bespoke commission your details will be held on my computer and any information you provide, such as photos, will be securely stored and kept on file for personal reference in case you choose to contact me about the commission in the future. Your first name may also be used as a file heading for my own reference. However, you are more than welcome to request for these to be deleted after full payment has been received and the commission has been delivered to you.

Commissions are paid through either my website (www.christopherwalster.co.uk), Etsy, or by invoice. Invoices are kept for my own financial records and are not sent to any third parties. I keep these for tax and legal obligations.

Using your commission on social media platforms

When I have completed a commission I always photograph and scan the finished piece for my portfolio to display on my website and on social media platforms. I show past commissions to give future customers ideas for their own commissions and wedding stationary. I will blank out sensitive information before uploading any pictures online, including names, addresses and anything that shows your personal details. If you do not wish for me to share images of your commission, please get in touch.

Paypal and Square

I use Paypal and Square for card payments at markets and events I sell at in person. The information provided is restricted and is covered under Paypal/Square’s own privacy policies. I only use the payment information (the amount paid and fees) for my own records. I do not send any details on to further third parties. The records are password protected and kept on file for tax purposes, disputes or legal obligations.
